Greer Freedom Blast to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary June 27

June 24, 2026

Greer — One of the Upstate's largest patriotic celebrations returns to Greer City Park on Saturday, June 27, as thousands of residents and visitors gather for the annual Freedom Blast.

The free community festival will take place from 6 to 10:30 p.m. in downtown Greer and will feature live entertainment, military tributes, family activities, food vendors and one of South Carolina's largest fireworks displays.

This year's event carries special significance as it commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States, with organizers placing an added emphasis on honoring active-duty military members, veterans and their families.

Established in 2009, Freedom Blast has become a signature summer tradition in the Upstate, drawing tens of thousands of attendees each year. The festival celebrates the nation's independence while recognizing the sacrifices made by those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Festival-goers can enjoy an evening of live music, a Kids Zone featuring rides and activities, military displays, patriotic exhibits and a variety of food vendors. The event also includes a formal Salute to the Armed Forces and Veterans, recognizing service members from each branch of the military.

One of the evening's most anticipated attractions is a skydiving demonstration featuring Team Fastrax, a nationally recognized parachute demonstration team known for carrying oversized American flags during precision jumps.

Entertainment will continue throughout the evening before the celebration concludes with a fireworks spectacular beginning around 10 p.m. The display is considered one of the largest public fireworks shows in South Carolina.

Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the festivities. Organizers ask attendees to leave pets, pop-up tents, outside beverages and smoking materials at home to help ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.

Freedom Blast is free and open to the public. Greer City Park is located at 301 E. Poinsett St. in downtown Greer. Additional parking is available throughout downtown, although attendees are encouraged to arrive early due to the large crowds expected.

For many families, Freedom Blast has become an annual tradition that serves as an unofficial kickoff to Independence Day celebrations across the Upstate, combining patriotic ceremonies, community fellowship and family entertainment in the heart of Greer.
