One of downtown Spartanburg’s most anticipated traditions is back, and in 2026, it’s bigger than ever.

Music on Main returns to Morgan Square on Thursday, April 2, kicking off another season of free, live music in the heart of the city. Hosted by the City of Spartanburg, the weekly concert series will take place every Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and, for the first time, will extend through August 27, adding even more opportunities for the community to gather all summer long.

Opening night will feature Soul Legit, a high-energy party band known for getting the crowd on its feet and setting the tone for the season ahead.

Each week, Music on Main brings a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians to the stage, offering a mix of genres including classic rock, R&B, country, soul, variety and party bands. The April schedule includes The Revival, No Sweat Reunion, Moore Junction Band and Back 9. In May, crowds can look forward to performances by Soul Intent, Rock and Roll Reunion, Queens Court and Tobacco Road.

The summer continues in June with Right Side Up, Echo Operative, XperienceSoul and The Audibles, followed by a packed July lineup featuring The Trevor Hewitt Band, Mad Music, Dirty Grass Soul, The DelVecchios and The Enforcers. The series wraps in August with James Radford, Soulified, CPR and The Night Affair Band closing out the season.

Held in Morgan Square, Music on Main transforms downtown into a lively outdoor concert venue each week. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, enjoy food and beverages from local vendors and nearby restaurants, and settle in for an evening of music and community connection.

The event is free and open to the public, making it accessible for families, young professionals and longtime residents alike. With its welcoming atmosphere and central location, Music on Main continues to serve as a cornerstone of Spartanburg’s downtown culture.

Organizers also emphasize a few important guidelines for attendees: outside alcohol, smoking and pets are not permitted, and guests are encouraged to bring cash and a valid ID for vendor purchases.

Beyond entertainment, Music on Main also serves as a meaningful fundraising platform for local civic organizations. Volunteer groups help staff the event each week and receive a portion of proceeds to support their charitable efforts. Since its inception, the series has contributed more than $250,000 to community organizations throughout Spartanburg.

The event is presented by the City of Spartanburg with support from sponsors including Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas, along with several local partners who help make the series possible each year.

As the 2026 season begins, residents and visitors alike are encouraged to mark their calendars, plan ahead for their favorite bands and take part in a tradition that continues to grow year after year.
