Three Boiling Springs students make Carson Newman University Dean’s List
Jefferson City, TN - Three students from Boiling Springs made Carson-Newman University’s Dean's List for the Fall 2025 Semester.
The University awards Dean's List honors to students earning a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.9 while taking 12 or more credit hours.
The students that were honored are Carolina Button, Miles Humphreys and Will Humphreys.
Cannons Elementary named Palmetto’s Finest finalist
Cannons Elementary School in Spartanburg School District 3 is among 13 South Carolina schools selected as finalists for the 2026 Palmetto’s Finest Awards, a statewide honor recognizing excellence in education.
The Palmetto State Teachers Association announced the finalists following an extensive review process conducted by a committee of educators and past Palmetto’s Finest award recipients.
Cannons Elementary advanced to the finalist round after completing a 22-page application last fall and hosting an onsite evaluation by a review committee. The school is now undergoing a second onsite visit as part of the final selection process.
In total, 30 schools across South Carolina applied for the award.
Winners will be announced April 23, 2026, during a live broadcast streamed by South Carolina ETV to each finalist school. Each school will have the opportunity to celebrate the announcement with its local community.
Punk Flea Market returns to Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds February 7 - 8
The SouthEast Punk Flea Market returns to Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds, located at 575 Fairgrounds Road, next month, February 7th - 8th, 11 am - 7 pm each day. Breeze announces new nonstop service to Columbus, Ohio, from Greenville-Spartanburg
Breeze Airways announced a new nonstop route from Greenville-Spartanburg to Columbus, Ohio, with service on Mondays and Fridays starting May 8. Fares on the new route will start from $49.
